Hand Washing
Wash your holder by hand with warm water and a mild dish soap. Use a soft sponge or cloth to wipe away any residue. Avoid abrasive scouring pads, which can scratch the finish.
Dry Immediately
Towel dry your holder right after washing. Standing water left on wood can dull the finish or cause warping over time, so don't let it air dry sitting in a wet sink or rack.
Never Soak or Dishwash
Never submerge your holder in water and never put it in the dishwasher. Prolonged soaking and the dishwasher's heat and harsh detergents can crack, warp, or discolor solid wood.
Conditioning
Every few weeks (or whenever the wood looks dry), apply a small amount of food-safe mineral oil with a clean cloth, let it soak in for a few minutes, then buff away any excess. This keeps the finish nourished and resistant to daily wear.
Storage
Store holders in a dry area away from direct sunlight and heat sources like stovetops or dishwashers, which can dry out the wood and cause cracking.
